Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 16, 2026

1. Overview

pageParser.io ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and (if you sign in with credentials) a hashed password. If you authenticate via Google OAuth, we receive only the information Google provides (name, email, profile picture). Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the Service, including parsers you create, schedules you configure, job run history, and plan usage (number of parsers, number of runs). Scrape Targets: We store the URLs and natural language prompts you provide to configure parsers. Scraped Data and Screenshots: Output data returned by each parser run and full-page screenshots of scraped URLs are stored on your behalf as part of the Service. Billing Information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or full payment details. We store only your Stripe Customer ID and subscription identifiers. Communications: If you contact us, we may retain records of that correspondence.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service. • Process your subscription and billing. • Send transactional emails (e.g., job completion notifications, welcome emails) via Postmark. • Enforce our Terms of Service and plan limits. • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support. • Monitor and analyze usage to improve the Service. • Comply with legal obligations.

4. AI Processing

Scraped page content and your prompts are sent to OpenAI's API (GPT-4o) for data extraction. This data is processed by OpenAI in accordance with their usage policies and privacy practices. We recommend you review OpenAI's Privacy Policy at openai.com/privacy. We do not send personally identifiable information to OpenAI beyond what is incidentally present in the scraped page content you choose to target.

5. Data Storage

Your account data is stored in MongoDB. Scraped output and screenshots are stored in an S3-compatible object store (Garage). Data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete parsers and their associated job history at any time from your dashboard, which removes the associated data from our systems.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We may share your information with: • Service Providers: Third-party vendors (OpenAI, Stripe, Postmark, S3 storage) that assist us in operating the Service. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data. • Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority. • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will provide notice before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy. We will not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies solely to manage your authenticated session. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or behavioral analytics cookies. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but this may prevent you from logging in to the Service.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Passwords are stored using bcrypt hashing. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including: • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data. • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing [email protected]. • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format. • Objection: Object to certain types of processing. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected].

10. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., resolving disputes, enforcing agreements).

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated effective date, and where appropriate, by email notification. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
